ECE594(SMD) - Strategic Mechanism Design

Instructor(s): Marden

Syllabus:

Game theory is the mathematical modeling of strategic interaction among rational (and irrational) agents. The main topics covered are mechanism design and auction theory, which can be broadly defined as designing interactions between self-interested agents in order to achieve good social outcomes. We'll highlight several foundational results and discuss their implications to the emerging field of socio-technical systems.
