Former CCDC graduate student Prof. Hana El-Samad received the 2011 American Automatic Control Council Donald P. Eckman Award with the citation "for novel application of control theory in the analysis and synthesis of complex biological systems." The Eckman award, given by the American Automatic Control Council, recognizes outstanding achievements by a young researcher under the age of 35 in the field of control theory.
